Originally an old cider farm, the three luxury gites / holiday cottages are attached to either side of the main farmhouse overlooking an orchard. Guests are free to use the orchard and gardens for dining or leisure activities, and a barbeque and garden furniture is provided. Group discounts are available.
There are lovely local walks which many couples enjoy, and a little further afield the medieval towns of Vannes and Josselin are within easy driving distance. The beaches of the south coast and the beautiful Golfe du Morbihan are approximately 45kms from La Metairie. For the twitchers among us there's Kingfishers, Jays, Nuthatch, Tree Creepers, Bullfinch, Spotted Woodpeckers, Cuckoos, Owls, Thrush, Hawks, Falcons, Gold & Greenfinches, Bullfinches, Dunnocks... even Otters in the Blavey further downstream. Blavet Valley Lakes are just 10 minutes away for great carp fishing, and the area is also noted for its excellent walking and cycling routes.
Superior Gite Accommodation
The village of Melrand is just two minutes or so by car and has a superb French restaurant for romantic evenings out. Also in the village is an Italian restaurant with takeaway pizza, other shops for groceries and bread, a pharmacy, Post Office and bar/tabac. Also within easy reach is the town of Pontivy (watch video) and the beautiful village of Saint Barthelemy which has a restaurant noted for its English style fish and chips served on a large slate.
