The Coach House Dining Area

The Coach House Gite Video

The Coach House is large and airy and the coolest of our three gites in the summer.  It is located on the ground floor below the Gallery but there is no issue with noise as there is a solid floor between the two properties.

The Coach House is beautifully decorated with antique furniture including a king-size 4-poster bed and is very popular with honeymoon couples.  The kitchen overlooks the garden and is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster and fridge.  There is plenty of work space and a good size table for dining is provided.  The layout is open-plan but the kitchen is screened off from the main living/sleeping area and there is a separate shower room. Electric heating is available if the evenings get chilly.
Due to the layout, this gite would be suitable for anyone with mobility problems although the shower room is not accessible by wheelchair.

The Gallery is one of our nicest gites with a private balcony overlooking the garden and orchard. The new balcony has a pretty bistro table and chairs for dining or just enjoying the sun with an aperitif! It is accessed by a wooden staircase which makes it the most private of our gites. The raised deck is also perfect for stargazing and astronomy enthusiasts as there is no light pollution.

It is newly carpeted and furnished with pretty furniture and a 'french-style' double bed. The accommodation is open plan but does benefit from a well equipped, separate kitchen and spacious shower room.

In the kitchen we provide gas hob/electric oven, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster.

An iron, ironing board, hairdryer and air cooler are also provided and there is electric heating in the living area and shower room should the evenings turn chilly.

If you do not drive or prefer not to drive, when you book this gite we offer a ferry or airport transfer service by prior arrangement. Please inquire at your time of booking if you wish to take advantage of this service.
Please note that The Gallery is not suitable for anyone having difficulty with stairs.

Lake Guerledan Cottage

Lake Guerledan, Central Brittany

Nestling on the edge of a forest just 500 metres from Lake Guerledan in central Brittany, Lake Guerledan Gite will be available to rent commencing June 2016. Set in glorious and peaceful countryside just outside the picturesque village of Saint Aignan, the detached fully renovated cottage is particularly well suited for nature lovers, fishing, hiking, boating and wildlife photography enthusiasts. The borders of Morbihan and Cotes d'Armor pass through the centre of the lake, and the cottage is situated on the Morbihan side. The property sits on an acre of land and is not part of a gite complex therefore guaranteeing privacy.

Just across the shore of the 988 acre lake, the largest in Brittany, sits the ancient Abbey of Bon Repos which plays host to the Sound and Light show of Brittany (Son et Lumiere) each year in August. The show depicts Bon Repos through the ages including a full-scale replica of an iron age village and ancient battle re-enactments supported by 21st century technology which is quite simply mind-blowing.

There are plenty of tourist attractions in central Brittany and some great places to dine including the popular Restaurant Merlin pictured above which has great views over the lake. Lake Guerledan has an on-site sailing school with water ski and pedal boat hire, and large glass sided canal boats known as 'vedettes' are also available to take visitors along the 13km of waterways which were created when the valley was flooded. There are also several sandy beaches for bathers, one being just around the corner at Anse de Sordan.

If Golf is your game you can play a round at one of the local 18-hole championship courses, and the surrounding tracks and bridle paths of the Argoat Forest are perfect for horse riding, cycling, hiking, or finding the idyllic place for a spot of fishing. For a less extreme cycle ride, the towpaths of the Nantes - Brest Canal which pass through the village are perfect.

We do accept well-behaved pets at Lake Guerledan Cottage at an additional cost of £75 per stay subject to certain restrictions (see booking) This covers the cost of our specialist cleaning contractor.   Flights & Travel
